body
BACKGROUND

This action will authorize a construction services contract of a thoroughfare improvement project with Ed Bell Construction Company for the paving and drainage improvements on Camp Wisdom Road from FM 1382 to Mountain Creek Parkway.

This project along Camp Wisdom Road will extend from the FM1382 intersection to Mountain Creek Parkway for a distance of 2,550 feet. The proposed project will reconstruct the existing asphalt roadway to a four-lane divided roadway with curb and gutter, street lighting, sidewalks, traffic signal upgrade at the intersection of FM1382 and Camp Wisdom Road, a shared-use path, and drainage improvements.

Ed Bell Construction Company is a registered vendor, operating within the corporate city limits of Dallas, Texas.

Ed Bell Construction Company has had no contractual activities with the City of Dallas within the past three years.

If this project is not awarded for construction at this time, the streets will continue to deteriorate causing additional pavement cracking and potholes to form, creating additional maintenance costs for the City and potential damages to vehicles utilizing the roadways. Field conditions may also change which will require modifications to the engineering design plans, requiring additional funding and time to address.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT

Begin Construction January 2024
Complete Construction December 2025
