Title
Authorize an increase in the construction services contract with RoeschCo Construction, LLC for the construction of the Lake Highlands Trail Phase 2A/2B, Northern Extension - Not to exceed $393,019.98, from $4,475,464.93 to $4,868,484.91 - Financing: Street and Transportation Improvements Fund (2012 General Obligation Bond Fund) ($302,923.91) and Park and Recreation (B) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Fund) ($90,096.07)

Body
BACKGROUND

The original scope of work was to include drilled piers for two boardwalks, chain link fence with slats for approximately 900 feet along the trail alignment and railings.

The action will authorize Change Order No. 2 in the construction services contract with RoeshCo Construction, LLC that includes helical piles extension required to achieve additional structural load at one of the boardwalks and redesigning the footing for piers at the other boardwalk due to the presence of a retaining wall footing that is in conflict. The revised design will include a floating column supporting the second boardwalk, replacing approximately 900 feet of chain link fence with Trex decking fence for added safety and privacy measures and adding railings for safety at different sections, along with a variable height retaining wall at Scofield Church. These changes will result in an increase of $393,019.98, increasing the contract amount from $4,475,464.93 to $4,868,484.91.
