BACKGROUND

 

Chapter 39A of the Dallas Code of the City of Dallas provides moving expense payments for individuals displaced by the City of Dallas in conjunction with its real property acquisition activities.

 

On February 23, 2022, the City Council authorized the acquisition of real property known as 4150 Independence Drive, Dallas, Texas for the Affordable and Supportive Housing with Opportunities for Referral Based Supportive Services and Facilities Project by Resolution No. 22-0372.

 

Thirty-nine (39) occupants have been displaced as a direct result of this property acquisition. They qualify for a moving expense payment total of up to $36,800.00 pursuant to the Dallas City Code.

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On February 23, 2022, the City Council authorized the acquisition from Perfect Hospitality, LLC of approximately 81,943 square feet of commercially improved land located near the intersection of Independence Drive and Camp Wisdom Road for the Affordable and Supportive Housing with Opportunities for Referral Based Supportive Services and Facilities Project by Resolution No. 22-0372.
