BACKGROUND

This grant will allow the Dallas Police Department (DPD) to upgrade our current Records Management System (RMS) with a more robust replacement capable of handling the interface of records that DPD is required to maintain and keep updated for all prevalent ongoing and current information needed for cases in RMS.

The Web RMS upgrade will streamline system configurations, allowing for new data fields to be added in real-time, improving intelligence gathering and Command Staff reports and dashboards. The upgrade will also enhance the implementation of system upgrades and mobile access. This provides a more efficient way of managing data and reporting crime. This tool would improve DPD's ability to track emerging crime trends and reduce system downtime.
