Title
Authorize a Multiple Use Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation permitting the use of right-of-way for maintenance, repair, and operation of trail improvements along the north side of U.S. Highway 175 at Lake June Road - Financing: This action has no cost consideration to the City (see Fiscal Information)

Body
BACKGROUND

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is to construct a trail along U.S. Highway 175 (U.S. 175) and a new bridge at Lake June Road. TxDOT is leading the implementation of the project and the project is scheduled for bid advertisement in March 2024. The project includes a new trail along U.S. 175 and will replace the existing vehicular bridge at Lake June Road.

The project will result in creating another section of the Loop Trail along U.S. 175 between 2nd Avenue and Lake June Road and will connect this section of the trail into an existing trail constructed on Pemberton Hill Road, which in turn connects to the Trinity Forest Trails at Elam Road.

The City agrees to manage the maintenance, repair, and operation of the pedestrian and bridge infrastructure, deeming it necessary to execute a Multiple Use Agreement (MUA) with TxDOT. The MUA will allow the use of certain right-of way to perform the maintenance, repair, and operation of the pedestrian trail and bridge along U.S. 175 at Lake June Road.
