BACKGROUND

On May 25, 2022, the City Council authorized a contract with Austin Filter Systems, Inc. for the installation of erosion control improvements at seven locations experiencing severe erosion. The improvements include the installation of gabion walls, retaining walls, gabion mattresses, slope, and channel improvements to protect structures and infrastructure and to minimize creek bank erosion. During implementation of the proposed improvements, it was determined that additional construction quantities were necessary to properly address the site conditions and to address increased erosion since the engineering plans were completed.

This action will authorize Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Austin Filter Systems, Inc. for additional work and site modifications at the following locations: Cedar Branch Culvert at West Clarendon Drive, West Kiest Boulevard at Five Mile Creek, 3918 Pyka Drive at Crow Creek, 2625, 2641, 2663, 2667, 2687, and 2691 Deep Hill Circle, 408 Glen Oaks Boulevard at Woody Branch, Bonnie View Road over Five Mile Creek, and Dixon Branch at Club Creek Circle.
