BACKGROUND

On December 14, 2022, the City Council authorized a contract with Tegrity Contractors, lnc. for construction of the Dallas Water Utilities Water Delivery Service Center at 4120 Scottsdale Drive by Resolution No. 22-1809. The project includes a 16,000 square foot addition and renovation of 18,556 square feet of existing facilities that will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Interiors Certified and Americans with Disabilities Act Compliant. The Center will include offices, training/conference rooms, electrical/mechanical shops, common areas and site improvements of 476,900 square feet for parking and security.

The existing water and wastewater mains in Scottsdale Drive serving the existing and new facilities were built in 1948 and require replacement due to maintenance issues, service interruptions, and water quality issues. The service center at 4120 Scottsdale Drive is currently under construction and it is prudent to replace the mains at the same time to minimize community impacts and repeated disruption to the area. Replacement of the mains will improve functionality of the water and wastewater systems, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize service interruptions.
