BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a professional services contract with HVJ North Texas-Chelliah Consultants, Inc. dba HVJ Associates (HVJ Associates) for construction materials testing and inspection services for Dallas Zoo South Garage located at 725 South Ewing Avenue, in an amount not to exceed $139,195.00. HVJ Associates was selected as the most qualified consultant for this project. Materials testing will include soils and construction materials testing and inspections. The project scope includes the construction of a five-story cast-in-place and pre-cast concrete parking garage with 510 vehicle spaces and a concrete surface parking lot with 70 vehicle spaces.
This contract is needed to provide the required materials testing and inspection services to ensure that construction materials and installations are constructed as specified.

On March 21, 2024, the Park and Recreation Board will consider authorizing a professional services contract with HVJ North Texas-Chelliah Consultants, Inc. dba HVJ Associates for construction materials testing and inspection services at Dallas Zoo South Garage at 725 South Ewing Avenue.
