BACKGROUND
The Airport Operation Center (AOC) is an integral part of daily airport operations, which requires a standard of functional requirements for 24/7 operational support during normal conditions, irregular operation, and emergency situations. The Airport Emergency Operation Center (AEOC) is an essential component of emergency response and recovery where key officials can collect, communicate, and coordinate information and resources. The current layout, equipment, and resources are not sufficient in enabling the AOC/AEOC core functions.
The project intent for co-location of these two critical functions is the ability to collect, analyze, and share information between AOC/AEOC quickly and face-to-face during emergency management, and to redesign each center allowing for optimal operations in support of daily and emergent events. McAfee3 Architecture, inc. is analyzing the AOC and designing a space to facilitate the current industry needs in similar facilities and its technological needs.
This action will authorize Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the architectural services contract with McAfee3 Architecture, inc., to amend the scope of work to include construction administration phase services for the redesign and co-location of the AOC/AEOC at Dallas Love Field in an amount not to exceed $172,500.00, from $250,000.00 to $422,500.00.

On June 28, 2023, the City Council authorized an architectural services contract with McAfee3 Architecture, Inc., to provide design services and bid phase services for the Airport Operation Center/Airport Emergency Operation Center at Dallas Love Field by Resolution No. 23-0874.
