A public hearing to receive comments on the FY 2022-23 Operating, Capital, and Grant & Trust Budgets - Financing: No cost consideration to the City

BACKGROUND
Each year the City of Dallas holds public hearings to provide the residents of Dallas the opportunity to speak on the upcoming year's budget. Resident input is an important part of the budget development process. The hearing will be held at Dallas City Hall on September 28, 2022. The public is invited to attend and may participate in the hearing.
As required by section 102.005(b) of the Texas Local Government Code, the City of Dallas is providing the following statement regarding the proposed budget.
This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $132,345,693 or 10.98%, and of that amount $24,861,667 is the tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
The total property taxes to be raised includes certified values from Denton Central Appraisal District (CAD). Denton CAD provided certified values on September 12. The above estimate is based on certified values of $179,433,592,088 and the City's proposed FY 2022-23 tax rate of $0.7458 per $100 assessed valuation. The City's FY 2021-22 certified value is $155,938,191,755 and the current tax rate is $0.7733 per $100 assessed valuation.

On February 23, 2022, City Council authorized a public hearing to be held on March 9, 2022, May 25, 2022, and August 24, 2022, to receive comments on the FY 2022-23 Operating, Capital, and Grant & Trust Budgets by Resolution No. 22-0354.
