BACKGROUND
This action will authorize the rejection of the two bids received for the 2023 Improved Alley Maintenance Contract Nos. PBW-2022-00019858, PBW-2022-00019859, PBW-2022-00019860, and PBW-2022-00019861, due to the bids received being 85.00% and 100.10% higher than the Engineer’s estimate. The bid submitted by HD Way Concrete Service LLC, received on Friday, September 2, 2022, was in the amount of $928,7145.00 and the bid submitted by Estrada Concrete Company, LLC, received on Friday, September 2, 2022, was in the amount of $1,051,430.00. 2023 Improved Alley Maintenance Project Contract Nos. PBW-2022-00019858, PBW-2022-00019859, PBW-2022-00019860, and PBW-2022-00019861 are anticipated to be re-advertised for a new round of competitive bids and bring the construction services contract to City Council for consideration at the October 5, 2022, City Council meeting.
This project was publicly advertised for two consecutive weeks on August 17, 2022, August 24, 2022 and August 31, 2022 for the 2023 Improved Alley Maintenance Project Contracts. The two sealed bids received were opened on Friday, September 2, 2022.
