BACKGROUND

This action will authorize a professional services contract with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, LLC, for the engineering evaluation and design of storm drainage and erosion control improvements at three locations. Dallas Water Utilities has identified various properties in the City of Dallas impacted by stream erosion and flooding. Engineering evaluations and design improvements will be completed under this contract for the intersection of Lomo Alto Drive and Lemmon Avenue, the 4200 and 4300 block of San Gabriel Drive, and 6262 Melody Lane.

The services provided for this contract include project management, topographic and boundary surveys, easement document preparation, environmental permitting, subsurface utility exploration, geotechnical investigations, structural analysis, hydraulic analysis, and development of conceptual and final construction plans and special specifications. The intersection of Lomo Alto Drive and Lemmon Avenue experiences frequent flooding during storm events. Engineering services for the intersection of Lomo Alto Drive and Lemmon Avenue include a drainage study, modeling, and preliminary design to improve flooding issues. The existing concrete channel located north of San Gabriel Drive exceeds capacity and floods the residences at 4239 and 4247 San Gabriel Drive.
