BACKGROUND
The purchase of a diesel sweeper will allow the upkeeping of four aggregate storage locations for the Water Utilities Department. The sweeper equipment will collect small aggregates, rock, soil, excavated material, and other loose debris. The collection of these items will prevent debris from flowing into the city's stormwater drainage system and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code which authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
