BACKGROUND
Oncor Electric Delivery LLC (Oncor) provides electric transmission and delivery service with the city of Dallas pursuant to a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity issued by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and City of Dallas Ordinance No. 27485, an ordinance granting a franchise to Oncor for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, and using an electric delivery utility system in the City of Dallas. Ordinance No. 27485 was granted February 11, 2009 and expires on March 31, 2024. This ordinance will extend the term of the franchise for an additional 15 years, provide for its renewal and makes other minor changes to the franchise.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
The City Council was briefed on the “Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC Franchise Agreement” on February 7, 2024.
On February 28, 2024, this item was deferred by Councilmember Adam Bazaldua.
