BACKGROUND
The Forest Audelia Recreation Center Project is the renovation of an existing retail mall building into a new 10,100 square feet recreation center that will serve the Forest Audelia Community. The new recreation center will include multi-purpose rooms, a kitchen, an activity room, a public safety office, a tech center, three fitness room and boxing gym. This facility will also have access to an existing boxing gym that will be integrated into the new recreation center.
This action will authorize Change Order No. 1 to the construction services contract with SCI Construction Ltd. for the construction of the Forest Audelia Recreation Center Project to add a new underground fire water line from the water main to the Fire Riser Room.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On December 2, 2022, the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Board recommended transferring $5,551,590.00 in Skillman Corridor TIF District funds to the Park & Recreation Department to support the design and construction of a new City park and multi-purpose facility at the northwest corner of Forest Lane and Audelia Road.
On March 8, 2023, the City Council approved the transfer of funds by Resolution No. 23-0372.
