SUBJECT

Title
Authorize Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the design-build contract with CORE Construction Services of Texas, Inc. to provide construction services for Fire Station No. 36 replacement facility to be located at 2300 Singleton Boulevard - Not to exceed $5,908,377.00, from $530,910.00 to $6,439,287.00 - Financing: Public Safety (G) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Fund)

Body
BACKGROUND

On May 22, 2019, CORE Construction Services of Texas, Inc. was awarded the design-build services contract for the design, pre-construction services, an early construction package, architectural and engineering services for the design and construction of the replacement Fire Station No. 36 to be located at 2300 Singleton Boulevard by Resolution No. 19-0756.

This action will authorize Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the design-build services contract with CORE Construction Services of Texas, Inc. to provide construction services, in an amount not to exceed $5,908,377.00, from $530,910.00 to $6,439,287.00.

Deferral of this item would delay the project's start and completion dates for the construction of this replacement fire station. The postponement of awarding this construction contract will increase project cost due to either inflationary factor or Contractors requiring additional compensation for delayed implementation. As a result, the project will require re-scoping and/or additional value engineering to award within budget.
