BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service contract is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis.

This service contract provides for dental health services for seniors 60 years of age and older residing in the City for the Office of Community Care. Texas A&M University Health Science Center dba Texas A&M University College of Dentistry is contracted to provide clinical dental care services, including exams, cleanings, fluoride treatment, sealants, filings, extractions, root canals, treatment for infections, oral health education, and partial and full dentures to seniors.

A four-member committee from the following departments reviewed and evaluated the qualifications:

* Department of Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization (1)
* Office of Community Care (2)
* Office Homeless Solutions (1)

The committee selected the successful respondent on the basis of demonstrated competence and qualifications under the following criteria:


* Program evaluation 45 points
* Organizational capacity 30 points
* Budget 25 points
