BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service price agreement is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis according to annual budgetary appropriations. The estimated amount is intended as guidance rather than a cap on spending under the agreement, so that actual need combined with the amount budgeted will determine the amount spent under this agreement.

This service price agreement will provide for the removal and disposal of excavated materials for the Water Utilities Department. The services under this agreement provide for the transportation of excavated materials (soil, sand, concrete, re-bar, and broken pipe) from City locations. The excess excavated material is hauled by the awarded vendor to an approved dumpsite or landfill according to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations.

City locations includes service centers, water main repair projects, or construction sites to an approved dumpsite. The City estimates approximately 260,000 cubic yards of excavated material will be removed by the awarded supplier within a three-year period.
